MUA Undress Me Too Palette

If I was to say that I love neutral shadows, it would definitely be the understatement of the year. I cannot count how many neutral palettes I own. It's just impossible. Low end, high end - I most probably have it!

I have read a lot of great things about this palette; I just had to try it out for myself.

So, the shadows come in a white rectangular palette with a clear lid which makes it easy to identify the colours inside. I will say that I am disappointed that there isn't a compact mirror included within the palette - but I suppose you get what you pay for.  The white really makes a nice contrast for the gorgeous sultry tones of the shadows it contains; it really does make them stand out. The packaging is average quality and I am absolutely terrified of dropping this on the floor. I have images of the lid completely snapping off and the colours oozing into my beige carpet. The palette is at a fantastic price of £4 so I can’t really be that upset.

All of the shadows are highly pigmented which is awesome, this means one swirl of your brush and you’re good to go. The formula is really quite loose, therefore when applying on your eyelids, I find myself constantly going under my eyes with a clean brush wiping off the excess that has fallen down onto my cheeks (you don't want to be looking like Edward Cullen). Even though this sometimes can be slightly annoying, I quite like this about the product.

There are 12 shadows in the palette. Most of them are shimmer/glitter and there are just 3 matte. Mixing soft neutrals, cool greys and warm gold metallics -this tiny palette does have it all! Personally, I am a massive fan of shimmer eyeshadows so this product is so perfect for me.

My favourite shadows from the palette are definitely the gorgeous golden tones. 'Fiery' is the most beautiful rose gold shimmer - this type of colour is perfect to make blue eyes pop. Wink is also very similar but has a bluey cool undertone too it.

I feel that this palette can be closely compared to Naked 1 by Urban Decay.
‘Devotion’ duping ‘Half Baked’ and also ‘Exposed’ being an accurate dupe for ‘Gun Metal’ in NK1. I think that this is perfect for anyone who is starting out in make-up or who are simply just on a budget.

This palette is so perfect for a neutral lover like myself. The versatility and affordability is so amazing for the small price tag of £4 – you are a fool to miss out!

What have I been up to?

It is not often that Joe (my boyfriend) and I have moments of spontaneity anymore. We run a house with bills to pay; I often find myself day dreaming about something we cannot just afford to do! How I long to just jump onto the first flight we see, but with moving out and growing up comes responsibility and commitment.

We decided to ‘seize the moment’ and we drove all the way to Blackpool for the night to stay with Joe’s parents. The journey was hellish as there was complete stand still traffic on the M6. We were stuck in a hot stuffy car for 5 hours when it was only really supposed to take us 2 and a half hours! We finally arrived and we were so stressed out with the journey (and then getting terribly lost), I dumped my bag in our room and cracked open my bottle of wine.

A few glasses later we headed to the ‘Entertainment Bar’ which we stumbled across an amazing arcade. Around £20 down and a hazy wine head we joined Joe’s family (mum, dad, baby sister, brother and girlfriend) and watched the ghastly kids entertainment – douced with innuendos and bad dancing.

In the morning we got up bright and early, we took a walk with the family down the seafront in Fleetwood. It was pretty much a ghost town, apart from the gorgeous pastel beach huts I stumbled upon. An ice-cream later, we decided to say our goodbyes and head to Blackpool.

Again, we ended up in ‘Coral Island’ just about the biggest arcade I’ve ever been to! We had our fun there; I won myself a small Me 2 U bear in the grabby machines and then had a massive grump as I couldn’t win a Baby Oleg (what a spoilt brat).

We took a (very windy) stroll down on the pier and just watched as the tide came in - it was really beautiful and a great place to clear your mind. An hour later we decided to grab lunch and I had found that I had sat in chewing gum! SO embarrassing. *R.I.P black dress*

We then leisurely browsed the tacky joke and gift shops until it was time for us to head home.

Nail Polish Loves (Top 3)

Blanc by Essie
Essie ‘Blanc’ is such a gorgeous consistency. It’s so smooth and applies perfectly to a base coat. Due to the nature of the colour, it inevitably needs a few coats. The varnish works best with one thin coat, leave it to dry for a few minutes and then apply a generous amount to perfect and just airbrush the finish. Top it off with a fast drying top coat (my go to is Seche Vite); this will protect, smooth and lock in the colour.

Baker Street by Nails Inc
I have completely and utterly fallen in love with this colour, I surprised myself a lot as Blue just isn’t my colour. I fell head over nails for this sophisticated Royal Blue. The colour is so rich yet so simplistic. It looks amazing when colour blocking with your outfit (clashing is definitely in right now!). If a gun was to my head and I had to choose my favourite brand of polish, it would most definitely be Nails Inc. The quality is outstanding and is worth every penny.

Pirate by Chanel
Anyone that knows me well enough will know how much I am in love with Chanel. It’s one of my most luxurious and pricey varnishes retailing at £18 in Debenhams. ‘Pirate’ is my go to shade, it’s a gorgeous rich red and with a few coats it has the most beautiful shine in the light – it almost upsets me when it comes to applying a top coat over it.The polish is quite different to the ones above as the applicator hairs are very fair and thin – this means you have to be extra accurate when applying the polish (I always have to have a cotton bud clear up afterwards).
